Luna is a brilliant foil to the main three in so many ways. She appreciates Ron in a way few people do, she challenges Hermione’s complacent intelligence, and she understands Harry’s grief. She’s a delightfully interesting character as well — she’s a cloudcuckoolander who understands that she’s weird and doesn’t care. She genuinely cares about people just for the sake of caring for them and treats everyone with respect. Her perspective on things is fresh and really contrasts nicely with the other characters.
